Abstract: The Standard Model of Particle Physics is a well established theory, tested by experiments at
high energies, such as LEP, Tevatron and LHC. However, this colloquium will discuss the problems of the
Standard Model, in particular the problem of hierarchy, besides presenting the main theories candidates to
explain the search for new physics at the TeV scale.
